Academician Sergei Leonovich was invited to visit Qingdao Shamu Advanced Material Co., Ltd.
With the invitation of Qingdao University of Technology, Academician Sergei Leonovich of Belarusian State Technological University and his wife Ms. Olga Leonovich, held two-week lectures and exchange activities in Qingdao.
As a return visit to Professor Weibo Huang's visit to Belarusian State Technological University in April 2019 to exchange information on spraying polyurea technology. On May 27, 2023, Academician Sergei and his wife made a special trip to Qingdao Shamu Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. to deeply discuss the application prospects of spray polyurea technology in the field of concrete infrastructure protection in low latitude areas of Russia and Belarus with Professor Huang, He Pengxiang and other company management personnel. Academician Sergei believes that the excellent low-temperature elasticity, strength, elongation and ultra-thick characteristics of spraying polyurea are not comparable to any other coating protection technology, and are worth vigorously promoting in the China-Russian Far East strategic cooperation development project.
During the exchange activity, Professor Huang focused on introducing that leading the scientific research team to work hard in the past 15 years, and the transformation process of China from a spraying polyurea great country to a spraying polyurea strong country. He also accompanied Academician Sergei and his wife to visit the laboratory, outdoor aging and seawater spray test site, 10kg TNT blasting test original, QTG training classroom, spraying polyurea technology museum and other venues of Qingdao Shamu Advanced Materials Co., Ltd.
Academician Sergei highly praised Professor Huang’s important contribution to the spray polyurea technology worldwide. He suggested strengthening research on the application of spray polyurea technology in the composite force and repair of concrete structures, and also indicate that the spray polyurea technology should be combined with the research topic of building durability, to solve the complex environment of concrete structures in low latitude area, such as seawater corrosion, ice-bank impact, freeze-thaw damage, carbonization failure, to explore a new technological approaches.
Professor Lv Ping and Associate Professor Feng Chao from Qingdao University of Technology accompanied the visit.
Academician Sergei has long been engaged in the research and engineering application of civil engineering materials and durability of building structures. He is currently the president of civil engineering school of Belarusian State Technological University, a foreign academician of the Russia Academic of Sciences, a foreign expert of Shandong province’s “Double Hundred Foreign Experts Long-term Program”, got “Qilu Friendship Award” in 2022, twice got the President Award of Belarus in 2005 and 2009, and the award of the National Academy of science of Belarus in 2006.
