The 12th QTG Jobsite Polyurea Training Was Concluded Successfully in Qingdao, CH
[www. polyurea. cn 2013-10-31 News]On October 28 ~ 31, 2013, along with the rustling autumn wind, the trainees from Korea, Mongolia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Liaoning, Guangdong, Hunan, Qingdao and Yantai had completed a three-day period polyurea technology training course of the 12th QTG with full enthusiasm. They all benefitted a lot from systematically studying the basic theory and operating practices of pure polyurea, and visiting some pure polyurea projects in Qingdao, CHINA.
QTG is referred to as polyurea training course of Qingdao Technological University.It was founded in 2009 by China's polyurea technology founder ― Professor Weibo Huang. It has been held 12 sessions up to now, and cultivated a large number of professional and technical personnel for the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, Shanghai-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, Shijiazhuang-Wuhan High-speed Railway, Qingdao Bay Bridge, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and other national key protective polyurea projects. At the same time, QTG also provides learning and communication platform for the people of the world, who need to understand basic knowledge of polyurea technology urgently, and it attracted more and more attention by polyurea industry both in CHINA and abroad. Its popularity and attendee have exceeded PDA-USA and PDA-EUROPE. It is worthy of the name PDA-CHINA. In this QTG training, the contents that made an deep impression on trainees are:
1.Professor Huang summarized his research results of polyurea, and analyzed pure polyurea excellent mechanical properties, ageing resistance, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, scour resistance and other performance in detail; Combined with the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, Qingdao Bay Bridge and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and other infrastructures of polyurea, he imparted successful experiences and failure lessons of construction to all trainees.
2.In view of the chaotic situation of fake polyurea overrun in CHINA mainland and Taiwan, he showed the dangers of fake polyurea. It not only affects the project’s quality, but also causes great harm to spraying equipment. He summarized several methods that people could easy and fast identify the pure and the fake polyurea. He advocated the use of pure polyurea to guarantee the quality of constructions.
3.Visited Tennis Court of Qingdao Technological University. This polyurea project of the court was completed in October 2003. During the ten years, the physical education office made acrylic paint decoration twice. However, the acrylic paint was unable to resist wear and weathering, then gradually blistered and peeled off. But the lower polyurea is still intact. It is highly evaluated by the trainees.
4. Prof. Huang focused on introducing to the two new equipments manufactured by the United States PMC (Polyurethane Machinery Cooperation, former Gusmer) PHX -20 and PHX -40, and AP - 2 gun. The performance of PHX - 40 host with AP-2 gun was reported comprehensively in the project of Qingdao Olympic Fitness Center rolled steel tiles with 5000 square meters roof protection in October 2012 (see news: http://www.polyurea.cn/en/2012/2012-10-09/248.html). In February, 2013, PMC company launched PHX-20 host (see news: http://www.polyurea.cn/en/2013/2013-03-20/284.html). The volume and flow rate of PHX - 20 were decreased significantly, coupled with the AP-2 gun which could not return or leap into material. It is very suitable for the spraying operations on medium and small area. e.g. interior storage tank, bulletproof helmet, speaker enclosure, and interior waterproof, etc.
5. Visited sunshine exposure field of polyurea, all trainees had witnessed and amazed by the polyurea technology in China being how to catch up with the world advanced level under the instruction of Professor Huang. The period of 14 years of natural sunshine exposure and 30,000 hours of QUV accelerated aging shows that the aging resistance performance of Qtech series pure polyurea products are better than US similar products, such as SPI, VersaFlex, UCSC and so on. Trainees also compared the tensile test in person, the result shows: the tensile strength of Qtech pure polyurea products is 26.2 MPa, the elongation at break is 520%, but the tensile strength of US competitor is only 19.5 MPa, the elongation at break is 437%. And the tensile strength of Korea competitor is only 18.7 MPa, the elongation at break is 247%.
6. “One Day City Tour of Qingdao with Pure Polyurea Projects” organized trainees to visit Qingdao pure polyurea jobsites and natural scenery of Qingdao city by TOYOYA van. The visited jobsites were: Color steel tile roof restoration project of Qingdao Olympic Fitness Center, Anti-leakage project of Qingdao Funing Memorial Five Lotus Ponds, Anti-leakage project of Laoshan Xiaowang Reservoir, Pure polyurea project of potable water channel of Qingdao Shuyuan Reservoir, Pure polyurea protective project of pile cap of Qingdao Jiaozhou Bay Bridge. All trainees said exclamatorily: Qingdao is deserved to be the birthplace of polyurea technology in China, and Qingdao Technological University is worthy of being the bulwark of defending pure polyurea technology. Professor Huang is worthy of its reputation as the "father" of polyurea in CHINA!
Five trainees from Taiwan said: two years ago, there are 6 Taiwan's sages to participate in QTG training. After returning, they widely publicized the characteristics of QTG training and Professor Huang’s lecture style of rigorous scholarship and theory closely with practice to Polyurea boundary of Taiwan. They summed up as: funny make adept sound doorways, let dilettante sounds very busy. The ear is virtual, seeing is believing. Listening Professor Huang's lecture face to face, they feel: every word hit the key point, and all truly come to our heart and soul. More and more polyurea colleagues in Taiwan will participate in QTG and learn from Professor Huang in near future.
